March 29th 1995 - Senior Prom Out of HandThe senior prom is the dance everyone looks forward to, but going to the prom is becoming more and more expensive. Everywhere you look you see people with magazines and calculators, trying to figure out how much it will cost them to look good--manicures, haircuts, dresses, tuxedos, limos and flowers. And then add the cost of tickets and post-prom arrangements. Do you realize that for the money you pay for all this stuff you could take a trip to England instead?
The prom is made out to be the greatest dance you will ever attendm but no prom could possibly live up to the months of dreaming and preperation that preceede it. After all, senior prom is not Cinderella's Ball. I am not saying that you won't have a good time at the prom, but you could have just as good a time at a club without having to buy a dress that you may never even wear again.
If you go to the prom, I hope you have a lovely time. As for me, I think that I'll be spending the week in London.
