Bio

Born in Philadelphia, Karen Kalbacher started her art career by making a passable birdbath (complete with bird) out of clay in kindergarten. Since then she has since become interested in writing. She attended Community College of Philadelphia with an English Major, Art Minor before transferring to the Art Institute of Philadelphia where she became an animation major. She graduated in Winter 2000 with an Associates Degree in Paper Animation.

Since graduation, Karen has worked for a number of different companies. She has designed company websites, logos and done illustrations for Franchi$it while working for Mediacraft. Several of her short stories have been published on the web and she has done band interviews for Origivation Magazine and ghosted articles for various websites. She has experience writing copy, bios and editing various texts. She currently lives by herself in Parkwood, Philadelphia with her two guinea pigs and has to keep her easel in the living room next to a lamp and a stuffed bear. His name is Billy.
